Natural Lawn Care

We apply organic material to feed the microbes in the soil that improve the roots of your lawn.  Our organically fed lawns will grow thick green grass to inhibit weed growth the natural and safe way.  Healthy soil = happy plants = healthy people.

Pros of Going Organic vs Synthetic

Yes, you will have some weeds with our organic programs, but that is true of synthetic programs, too.  Organic lawn care is not a traditional weed-and-feed application that kills all weeds in one step - such a process does not exist in any lawn care arsenal.  Applications of our soil conditioners rebuild the soil to give the grass the best chance to discourage weed growth, drought, and pest infestation.  No more watering and less frequent mowing will be your future with us.

A synthetic program is like a term life insurance policy.  The older we get, the more expensive it becomes.  An organic program is like an annuity.  Organic programs can be more expensive up front, however they will save you time & money in the long run.

Program Options

The Natural Program

This program is a 4-6 application program and is best for lawns that have been free of toxins for two years or more.  We begin with a spring weed preventative that inhibits all weed seeds and crabgrass from germinating.  This initial application also provides enough slow release soluble nitrogen for the year.  We then follow up with applications of our soil conditioners every six weeks to help the biology of the soil.  This natural biology prevents disease, insect infestation, and bad weed-loving bacteria from infesting the soil.  These applications result in balanced soil and giving your a thicker greener lawn.

The Organic Shift

If you have been applying blanket applications of weed control and fertilizer in years past, then this is the program for you.  This program helps the grass transition from synthetic programs to our organic programs.  Over the years your lawn has become dependent on synthetic material and will become stressed during the switch to organics.  A stressed lawn will become inundated with weeds, disease, and insects resulting in bald spots and unhealthy grass.  Our solution is The Natural Program plus 4-6 additional applications to help the lawn during this transition so it is not stressed.  This transition is only for the first year and the second year will be started with The Natural Program.

 Lawn Renovation

This is our top of the line and best solution to anyone transitioning or continuing an organic program.  We mow the lawn very short and bag the clippings so our compost topdressing has the best chance of soil contact.  Core aeration is next as well as soil amendments, raking, overseeding, and finally our soil conditioner applications.  We follow up in two weeks with another application of soil conditioners, and then you are ready for The Natural Program described below.

All Programs vary per square footage, past treatments, soil test results, soil type, and weed infestation.  Perennial Weeds will be hand pulled, mechanically treated, or spot treated if necessary.  Aeration is usually required for all programs, but not needed past the 2-year point of our organic programs.
